Moving? 4 Ways to Meet Your Neighbors
Moving can be an exciting step to take, but it can also be difficult — especially if you don’t know anyone in the area.
Fortunately, that can be quickly remedied. There are plenty of ways to meet people in your new community, and there should be plenty of opportunities right in your neighborhood.
If you’re ready to get to know your new neighbors, here are four easy ways to make it happen.
- Host a party. Throw a housewarming or block party, and drop an invitation at each of your neighbor’s homes. You can grill, have yard games set up or hang out in your driveway to encourage more people to drop by. You can post about the event in online neighborhood groups, too.
- Spend time outdoors. Make it a point to be present in your front yard regularly. You could tend to a garden, play with pets or children, or sit outside enjoying a book. No matter what it is, it gives you a chance to interact with your neighbors as they come and go.
- Find other parents or pet owners. Kids and pets can be a great excuse to spend time with new people. You can meet at playgrounds or dog parks — or, if the weather’s bad, grab a bite to eat at the local pizza place or hang out together at home.
- Attend events in the community. Check online for events that might be going on in and around your neighborhood: Maybe there’s a game night at a community center or arts and crafts at the local library you can attend. Be sure to head to regular community offerings like farmers markets, too.

Sculpture in the Park Loveland
During the second week of August, art enthusiasts flock to Loveland’s Benson Sculpture Garden for the largest outdoor juried sculpture show in the country. Over 2,000 sculptures created by 160 national and international artists are featured during this weekend-long event.
There’s nothing more fitting than an art sculpture event presented in Loveland – also known to be “a sweetheart city which has a love affair with the arts”.
This event serves as a public showcase of bronze, wood, stone, ceramic, metal, and mixed media sculptures against the dramatic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. All sculpture displayed at the show is available for sale. Interact with artists, take in the astounding sculptures, and expose your family to new and exciting artwork!

Based on Pete Wernick’s methods, we use lead sheets for lyrics and chords, and don’t expect anybody to be masters of their instruments. If you can take a lead or sing harmony, that’s great, but if you can reliably get between four chords in time to the music, that’s great too! Raised on his family’s cognac vineyard in France, Chef/Owner Philippe Boutinet became an apprentice chef in his hometown of Cognac, France at the age of thirteen, realizing early on that he had a love for food and hospitality. Once in the US, Philippe spent his formative years working with several renowned chefs: Thomas Keller of French Laundry, Patrick O’Connell of The Inn at Little Washington, Michel Richard of Citronelle, amongst others, who helped shape his style and gastronomic skills.
